The Kingdom of God Is at Hand

Updated: 1 day ago

Jesus Preached the Gospel of the Kingdom

This week, instead of a written article, we’d like to share a recent teaching from Ken on the Kingdom of God.

The Kingdom of God was central to everything Jesus preached and did. Yet many of us have been taught to think of Christianity primarily in terms of getting to heaven one day. While salvation is a glorious part of the gospel, Jesus preached something even bigger: the good news of the Kingdom.

In this message, Ken explores what Jesus meant when He declared, “The Kingdom of God is at hand,” why the Kingdom was at the center of Christ’s ministry, and what it means for us today. He unpacks the difference between the gospel of salvation and the gospel of the Kingdom, explains how God’s rule and reign break into our lives now, and challenges us to see ourselves as participants in what God is doing on the earth.

The teaching portion runs for approximately 50 minutes and is followed by a Q&A, where a number of practical questions about the Kingdom, spiritual growth, and everyday Christian life are discussed.

One of the most powerful statements in the message is this:

“The gospel of salvation is about escaping. The gospel of the Kingdom is about advancing.”

We pray this teaching encourages you and gives fresh perspective on the greatness of God’s Kingdom and our role within it.
