Your Kingdom Come On Earth As It Is In Heaven Part 1

God is doing something far beyond us, not only in our midst but also in many places around the world. We hear of God moving in this country across numerous universities and beyond. There is a stirring in the hearts of many of His people—a quickening and a pregnant expectation that heaven is about to break upon us in a new dimension.

With this in mind, the Lord's Prayer in Matthew 6:9-13 provides the clearest instruction on how to bring the reality of His world, His kingdom, into this one. Jesus pointed out His priorities in His model prayer, given in response to His disciples' request, "Lord, teach us to pray."

"Hallowed be Your name / holy is Your name." Intimacy with God is expressed in worship. In other words, ministering to God out of an intimate personal relationship is the first key to the Kingdom of God being manifested in our experience.

"Your Kingdom come..." This is the cry of a heart hungry for God to bring His Kingdom to earth, establishing His domain; in other words, it is bringing the reality of His rule to earth, into our midst.

Regarding the first point, Bill Johnson in his book, "When Heaven Invades Earth," writes:

"In the Book of Revelation, which is actually entitled The Revelation of Jesus Christ, it is obvious that praise and worship are the primary activities of heaven. And so it is to be for the believer here on earth. The more we live as citizens of heaven, the more heaven's activities infect our lifestyles."

Worship is our number one priority in ministry. Everything else we do is to be affected by our devotion to this call. God inhabits our praise. One translation puts it this way, 'But You are holy, enthroned in the praises of Israel.' God responds with a literal invasion of heaven to earth through the worship of the believer.

Derek Prince once said, "If you only have 10 minutes to pray, you should spend about 8 of them praising God." My encouragement to you is, in this season, to cultivate your intimacy with God through praise and worship, which I believe will increase the intensity, hunger, and thirst for what God is doing.
